CENTERED IN THE RECYCLING AND REUSE OF HYDROGEN TECHNOLOGIES, THE HYTECHCYLING PROJECT INVOLVES COMPANIES AND RESEARCH CENTERS IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES

The first annual meeting of the HyTechCycling project was held on 30 May at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia). All the participants of the project, coordinated by the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation, were able to analyze the situation in which they are after a year of work and lay the groundwork to define the activities to be carried out in the coming months.

The project is located at 33% of its development, fulfilling the objectives set to date within a good management of economic and temporary resources. The activities already completed have dealt with the identification of the critical materials and components of the various fuel cell and electrolyzer technologies, as well as the current methods for the recycling of these materials.

The meeting established the basis to define the work of the coming months. The economic and environmental impact of the recycling process will be determined within the complete life cycle of the technologies involved, from the generation of energy to produce hydrogen until the decommissioning and recycling of the facilities.

“Establishing a business model is fundamental to an effective implementation of the recycling of hydrogen technologies,” said Miguel Zarzuela, Technician of the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation.

And is that, finding new business models that can be used by companies in this regard and establish recommendations for the sector and the public interest surrounding hydrogen are other objectives of this initiative that will be developed for two more years with an evident Aragonese protagonism.
