The third edition of the Symposium of the Spanish Network of Life Cycle Assessment took place on 4th November 2016, at School of Agricultural Engineering and Environment, Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain.
Several studies related to Life Cycle Inventory and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools and applications were shown during the event. IMDEA Energía, partner of HyTechCyling project, contributed to the symposium by means of the elaboration of a poster about the project, titled “TOWARDS A ROBUST LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT OF END-OF-LIFE STRATEGIES FOR FUEL CELLS AND HYDROGEN TECHNOLOGIES”. This poster is focused on the LCA aspects of HyTechCycling. Within this field, the underdevelopment of End of Life (EoL) strategies for Fuel Cell and Hydrogen (FCH) technologies result in the weak consideration of the EoL stage in current LCA studies of hydrogen energy systems.
Also some expected results and conclusions of the project regarding LCA studies, such as gathering quantitative information on the life-cycle evaluation of the EoL stage of FCH energy systems and the elaboration of recommendations on the most appropriate EoL strategies were shown.
